I am he who walk's the path of devotion. I rely and believe in our father's cause and his father's purpose. We walk forth to protect those we shield from Tyrant's, Xenos, and witch's. We are those who bring forth the form that is built to resist any such damnation thrown upon us. In faith in our body, in faith of our own strength's we walk forth to clense and purge all those who come before us. In our father's name, In mortarian's Name....For the Emperor's name. We shall fight!
First off I would like to say that the pose is decent (though I wish the arms were adjusted a bit).
He could use a bit more weathering (I have an example of a contemptor in my gallery). If you were not trying to do overly chipped paint I understand. The rust and erosion, while a cool idea, could have been executed a bit more smoothly. Have you heard of a product called 'Flow Improver' from the Reaper Paint line? If not, you should check it out, it is cheap and amazing. Mixing this with washes helps make the application of said washes a bit more smooth. Some of the washing on the model looks too unnatural because it went on very dark and not subtle.
I like the idea of attempting a glow effect on the lenses and the front vents. A little dry brushing on those (light blues followed by a white perhaps) would help drive home the effect you were trying to achieve.
Cool miniature, keep up the work. If you have any questions feel free to check out my gallery and toss me a note if you have any questions, I paint for Brush 4 Hire and I am always willing to share expertise.
